about us

The South-East Consortium for International Development (SECID)
is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization formed in 1977 to enable our member
institutions
to provide research, training, and extension to developing nations.
With a membership encompassing 14 universities that span more than a dozen
southern and eastern states, SECID is larger than any other U.S. consortium of
universities dedicated to international development. This size, when combined
with the quality of our member institutions, provides SECID with a number of
advantages that strengthen the services we offer.

SECID constitutes an alliance of Space, Sea and Land Grant institutions,
all mandated by law to serve as resources of economically and socially
responsible research and extension to their respective communities and,
through their international work, the world at large.
