Applied Agricultural Research and Outreach Project I
(Design and Pre-implementation)
Funding source: USAID

Mission staff at USAID/DRC contracted with SECID to design a project that would
strengthen the DRC's Department of Agriculture to develop and transfer agricultural
technologies to increase food crop production, increase farmer income and improve
sustainable natural resource management capacity in selected regions.

During the pre-implementation phase, project staff designed and integrated three
national commodity research programs into the Department of Agriculture. The
Mission subsequently awarded a follow-on project, Applied Agricultural Research
and Outreach Project II
to SECID.
