Evaluation of Kenyan National Agricultural Research Project (NARP)

USAID/Kenya invited SECID and its partner, the Mitchell Group (TMG) to assemble
a three-person team to conduct an assessment and evaluation of USAID support
to the ten-year, $38 million National Agricultural Research Project (NARP).

Areas of evaluation included:

• Social and environmental impact assessment
• Project planning, monitoring, and evaluation
• Research priority settings
• Farming systems approach
• Gender issues
• Human resource development
• Socio-economics and biometrics
• Collaboration with regional research centers
• Agricultural research fund implementation and effectiveness.
