Education and Sanitation Study Tour to Morocco and Egypt
Funding source: The World Bank

As part of the World Bank funded Southwest Poverty Alleviation Project, SECID led an Education and Sanitation study tour to Egypt and Morocco. The goal of the study tour was to develop a broad understanding of how the two countries developed solutions to problems that local governments encountered in assisting poor village children to attend school and how local governments protect poor children from illness. In Egypt, the delegation visited various UNDP funded projects and met with UNDP representatives. In Morocco, participants met with representatives of the Ministry of National Education and the Ministry of Social Development, Solidarity, Labor and Vocational Training. Additionally, members met with representatives of the Ministry of Human Rights, where both parties exchanged experiences.

SECID was responsible for the organization of all travel and meeting related activities, including international transportation, accommodation, meeting, and interpretation.
