IT Development Project - National University, Ho Chi Minh City

The project's objectives were:

  • To develop and install three computer programs for the departments of
    academic affairs, human resources, and document management;
  • To strengthen the capacity of the institution to meet its teaching objectives; and
  • To Identify standard requirements to help develop an e-learning course.

The scope of services involved:

  • Studying the infrastructure of Viet Nam National University - Ho Chi Minh
    City (VNU-HCM), university members' networks;
  • Completing a comprehensive study of management processes;
  • Study level of application of IT to the process of management;
  • Conducting a detailed analysis of plans for the computerization of three major university departments: academic affairs, human resource and official documents;
  • Recommending modifications to management process, with overall goal of improving quality of management;
  • Recommending new IT technologies that could be used to improve management and training process;
  • Identifying key computer programming components to ensure the success
    of computerization of the management process;
  • Working with VNU-HCM faculty and staff to set up official levels of documentation
    including technical requirements for three applications;
  • Establishing criteria to select software development company and communication methods appropriate to VNU-HCM during all phases of development;
  • Drawing up standard structural procedures for an e-course;
  • Advising on locally available technology which may be used to build the e-course.
